Battle Choral Society

28th November 2015  Dvorak: Stabat Mater

Our soloists  Natasha Day, Amy Lyddon, Gyula Rab & Simon Shibambu

Not a spare seat to be found in majestic Christ Church, St. Leonards for our Concert of Mozart on 29th November 2014. Lovely soloists, glorious music: an evening to remember.

In May 2014 we held a Commemorative Concert dedicated to 'The Fallen of All Nations'.
It included Brahms' German Requiem, and Elgar's haunting 'For the Fallen'; listen to us performing:

Our Concert of Italian Music, Nov 2013.

"The splendid surroundings of Christchurch, surely one of the most opulent venues in Hastings/St. Leonards, provided a wonderful backdrop to the evening of choral music It was very well attended performance with some unexpectedly entertaining compering from the pulpit, which put everyone at ease.
Battle Choral Society, some eighty voices strong led by their conductor John Langridge, was an impressive sight and from their first ‘Gloria’ the audience was gripped.
We then enjoyed Rossini's 'Petite Messe Solennelle'. The opening Kyrie was powerful and well-articulated, particularly from the basses, and set a suitably dramatic mood. The four soloists augmented the Choir in 'Cum Sancto', which was a tour-de-force, led with great energy by John Langridge."

Our May 2013 concert of Bach's monumental B minor Mass filled Christ Church with sound.

We were delighted that the renowned mezzo-soprano Louise Winter joined us for this Concert.
"....the dedication of the Choir members.... complementing the expertise of the orchestra... all combining under the baton of the indefatigable John Langridge to make the performance of this monumental work truly an evening to remember." Battle & Hastings Observer, May 2013.
