We celebrate a musical decade : John's 10th Year

The enthusiastic baton of Musical Director John Langridge has been waving
over our eager heads for the past ten years. His choice of pieces for
his anniversary Concert last autumn reflected his love of both Bruckner,
and conducting a professional orchestra.
In recent years, John has guided the Society through many of the great works,
including the Bach B minor Mass, Vaughan Williams’s Sea Symphony,
Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius and Verdi’s Requiem.

The choir has also gained a reputation for the excellence of its orchestra,
and it’s not unusual for some of the musicians to be drawn  from leading
orchestras; for our 2011 performance of Verdi’s Requiem,  trumpeters
from The Royal Ballet were amongst the 53 musicians.

The choir is extremely grateful forJohn’s inspiration, guidance and good-humoured
patience. Roll on the next 10 years!
